You won’t have to travel far to reach beautiful beaches from Lygia. Pefkoulia Beach is a particularly gorgeous spot. It’s a favourite for its high-rising cliffs and verdant forests, not to mention sun-shimmered, crystalline waters.
The capital of Lefkas is just 6km away, so you can easily travel to the livelier town by day and then return to your more peaceful village in the evening. There’s a lot to see in the centre, including an archaeological museum, scenic beauty spots and a stunning marina.
Lygia, Lefkas
This peaceful pebble beach is located close to Lefkas Town. Its quiet atmosphere is a contrast to the lively centre of the capital and the busier Agios Ioannis Beach nearby. Befitting the tranquil vibe, the waves here are generally calm too as the beach is protected by the headlands of the island.
Lygia, Lefkas
Located in Kalamitsi village, this beach’s open expanse of water dotted with dusky rocks and huge boulders make a spectacular sight. The soft sand leads to the brightest blue sea and there are sunbeds and umbrellas set up along the shore. It’s a very popular beach in the summer, so it’s best to get here early.
Lefkas
Start your night with an al fresco feast on the waterfront, then begin your bar hop. Taratsa Open is an open-air terrace with fab sea views, while Sea to See brings a touch of glamour to things. Up in the old town, Joy Bar does a mean cocktail and Havana Cafe brings the spirit of Cuba to the streets of Greece.
