Getting around
Wide boulevards, pedestrianised throughways and plenty of roadside parks make it easy to wander around. To see the city from the water, jump aboard a Batobus along the Seine and hop on and off at regular river stops. You can buy a single, a day pass or a bunch of ten tickets.

The Village of Father Christmas along Boulevard Saint-Germain complement the rows of alpine huts lining the Champs-Élysées. They’re coveted places for wandering around festivities galore.
December 2017 – March 2018 – Ice Skating
Housed in the Hotel de Ville, the Mayor of Paris’s residence, the skating rink is open for the winter season. Ice skates can be rented at a nominal amount, and little ones can also play on the ice by being pushed on a small ice-truck platform. Other skate rinks include Le Grand Palais, Trocadero and Place de la Concorde.
01 January 2019 – New Year’s Day Parade
Thousands of performers take to Paris’ grand streets for a colourful carnival of marching bands, dancers and musicians at the ultimate street party.
11 February 2018 – Carnaval de Paris
This multi-coloured spectacle attracts thousands of onlookers who come to enjoy the wacky and wonderful costumes, live music and acrobatic acts. It’s a sensational display.
March – May 2018 – Foire du Trône
Europe's largest pop-up funfair gets going in Bois de Vincennes park every year. Rides, shows and circus performers entertain everyone from noon till midnight everyday.

24 June 2018 – Midsummer Fireworks
Midsummer starts with a bang as Paris celebrates the shortest night of the year with a colourful firework display. Taking place on Ile Saint Louis, grab a spot along the Quai Saint-Bernard for the best views.

Under the leafy canopies of the Saint Cloud Park, this three-day event showcases the best musicians from the world of rock, coupled with a cool, party atmosphere. It's definitely a highlight of the city's music line-up.
