Icarus Statue

Right by the port in Alicante, you’ll see an imposing bronze statue of Greek legend Icarus, who’s walking out of the sea carrying a wing-shaped surfboard. Icarus, who, as legend has it, plunged into the sea to his death after flying too near to the sun and damaging his wings, is the work of modern sculptor Esperanza d'Ors.
