Lovely environment in the hotel, pool area and down to the beach. Food was excellent, very varied and high quality. Staff were very helpful and the holiday went very smoothly. Room had everything we needed. Only very small niggle, cleaning was not as thorough as it could have been

First of the hotel is not in Nerja in fact it no where near Nerja it is actually in Torrox which is 30min away on the bus from nerja. The hotel is nice but the area Torrox not nerja is a bit run down and not much do. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly. The food ok some nights better then other but the breakfast is. Good and has a wide selection.

Hotel very clean food fantastic, back of hotel leads onto promenade and beach, pool great splash pool for kids, staff friendly only negative was beds uncomfortable and pillows.Bus routes to Torre del mar aand Nerja and Malaga would go back.

A quick 3 night stay in Alicante at the Melia. Was offered an upgrade when arrived at Reception so paid extra for junior suite which was a lovely room overlooking the sea. Very nice check in, staff pleasant and courteous. Business hotel as well as beach hotel so no walking about with "wet feet" etc. Location was excellent, beach, marina and city all within walking distance and only 20 minutes from Airport. Castle St. Barbara only 5 minutes walk away with breathtaking views over the whole of Alicante. Recommend visit. We stayed on half board basis but if we go again we would miss out dinner as buffet was uninteresting and mostly luke warm. Lots of restaurants and bars around the Marina and beach which looked lovely and atmospheric. Breakfast was very good but only coffee and Danish pastries were left at bar area for early check out on our last day. No tea, rolls etc. All in all a very pleasant stay and will return on a B & B basis.

What a wonderful place. All was perfect. The staff can't do enough for you. The restaurant service and food choices are top class. The pool and surrounding areas are immaculately maintained. In particular, the front of house manager is so efficient and attentive to detail. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and will certainly be returning.

lovely hotel and service but nothing to do or see locally ,entertainment area in hotel is like a crèche in the evening .not suitable for a quiet evening as kids need a separate area for their own entertainment.

Great hotel and food . We have booked for next year staff overall very friendly. Hotel and facilities very good. The beds aren't very comfortable though and I really object to having to pay extra to use the safe in our room. This should be provided free of charge, also you have to pay for the sun beds on the beach however a charge is not indicated in the iberostar brochure.

Brilliant hotel great staff all very attentive to your needs I would recommend this hotel to everyone had a fantastic time, great beaches very friendly locals great market just a minute walk from the hotel on a Monday morning prices are the best I've seen. I would also like to thank the management of this hotel for the courtesy of all the staff.

Myself and daughter stayed at the Malaga Playa (iberostar) late August. Firstly, arrived at the hotel and found the entrance to be very welcoming and beautiful, from the architecture to the colouring of the building. The Reception staff were very pleased to see us and welcomed us with all inclusive bands and hotel information, with fresh juice to start the day, well required in the Costa heat. good touch. room was ready for us to go straight up. Off to the room - What can I say, the room was very tidy and location was excellent for us, we had a side double facing the sea, Planta cinco (567) which received the sun in the afternoon, so was perfect to sit on the balcony and relax while the little lady got her self ready for the evening entertainment. Off to the pool - we found the pool to be very enjoyable as it is a very large pool and never felt over crowded. There is a 45 min rule, leave your stuff unattended and its removed. Loved this idea, as it gave the later risers a chance to get loungers in good locations any time of the day and prevents those annoying people to hold them all day and not use them, however, I'm one of those people that will move them anyway as its not right. The entertainments teams at the hotel were amazing big shout out to Manu, Cayetano and the rest of you crazy bunch. (apologies, a lot of names to remember) you guys really are worth every penny (cent). the daily activities were constant, your choice to get involved, no pressure at all. all good fun, ranging from your traditional Spanish games (which I enjoyed as a first) to your most common holidays games like volleyball, water volley, dancing etc. Great times Off for breakfast, lunch, dinner - my daughter and I found the food to be excellent, a great array of meals, even a nights dedicated to certain dishes, I was in my element with this. All in all the food and drinks selection was great. One thing I found really impressive and shows the hotel is mindful of it is guests is the smoothies and fruit juices in the breakfast sitting. great idea for the healthy minded. The management team of the hotel do a great job (big shout out to Dasha who was constantly on the ball, checking the staff appearance and the condition of every dish presented, hotel cleanliness and customer satisfaction, she really did make our stay that more impressive as she always seemed happy to be there and willing. i would really recommend this hotel to all with children during the holiday session

Excellent hotel. Plenty of food choice, very helpful staff. Only thing I didn't agree with were people wearing beach shorts at dinner. Animation team work very hard and entertainment was very good . Would recommend
