Barbara Studios

We had a room in the old block with a lovely balcony and sea view. The bathroom needs updating but it was well equipped, cleaned regularly and the sheets and towels were changed mid-week. The location was great for the beach and nice restaurants and there is as bus stop and a mini-market very near. Barbats and her staff were always helpful and friendly. The only problem for me was the mosquitos!

If you want to relax in a gorgeous setting this is the place for you. Barbara,Papa and Erati treat you like family from the minute you walk in. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a balcony with great views. The pool is great and was like bath water last week.There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols to relax and sunbathe on around the pool. This was our second visit and are already planning our next so if you just want to chill out and totally relax what are you waiting for get it booked x

Excellent find. A family run complex, very friendly and helpful, couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed in the new apartments. Basic but spotless. Could do with toaster. Nice touch to have fly screens on the doors and windows. Lovely little pool, warmest I have ever been in!!! Plenty of sun beds. Nice little bar, the food is fantastic, cooked by mum Barbara, the Giros was to die for! The nearest beach was a bit disappointing, quite dirty, a small bar and a wooden portaloo! Reached down quite steep hill with 84 steps leading down to beach - definitely not for people with mobility problems. The best beach is out right, about 20 mins walk. Beautiful with good little bar serving surprisingly good food! Plenty of bars and restaurants. Beware the Greek night in restaurant on way to first beach! They don’t tell you that no matter what you order you are charged 30 euros!!!!!! And the starter meze that “ we give you” isn’t free!! Criminal! There were a few young couples there, so 60 euros + drinks really blew their budgets. Good little supermarket on site. Pretty good bus service to capital and airport and back from best beach, 2 euros everywhere, no taxis though, have to come from capital so very expensive if you can get one to come out there. Recommend the on site restaurant and especially restaurant next door, ‘La Calma’. Overall a superb stay. My thanks to all the family for making it special. Absolutely recommend.

Had a brilliant week here back at the start of August. Great little apartments that are central to most things. Anything you could want is either within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Great beaches & restaurants in the surrounding areas. Erato made us feel very welcome and always provided a lovely breakfast on a morning with fresh fruit and cake. Would 100% go back again next summer.

Fantastically run family business, Nothing is too much trouble for anyone who works there including the pool cleaning man and the cleaners who do a great job. Everyone is friendly and its great value for money with numerous local restaurants within walking distance.

An excellent hotel for the price. Barbara, Erato and Papa were as usual brilliant with absolutely nothing too much for them. Fantastic people which made for a fantastic holiday. The hotel is a bit of a stroll to a lovely beach but was well worth the effort...especially coming back. Bus stop right outside and once in Argostoli the world is at your command with buses to the rest of this magical island.

We stayed at Barbara's at the beginning of the (2019) season in May. There are many positives and overall we absolutely loved it. Everyone is just so friendly, staff and people staying there. Many people come year after year which says a lot. Certainly we will be returning. The accommodation itself is rather basic but this is the charm of it. Although it is listed as self-catering, it was virtually impossible to cook anything but having a fridge and being able to rinse out clothes and hang them up after a day at the beach was all we needed really. It is rather odd about the shower with no hook, how that's supposed to work I have no idea ! Only one TV station that we could find on the very small TV (BBC Worldwide) but it didn't overly bother us. Cleaning was done every other day. There are a lot of friendly cats around - great for me as an avid cat lover but it seemed this wasn't for everybody. All in all a very relaxing holiday and we were sad to leave.

Really great holiday.Erato, Barbara and Papa made us feel so welcome.Excellent cooked breakfasts ,lovely lunches and yummy dinners.Great choice of drinks and ice creams. A great resort on a lovely island.

Last minute booking so very reasonable price.Allocated first floor studio in newer block up the road from the main building/pool bar. Lovely balcony and view . Large room with a bath and shower over the bat. Kitchen facilities all you need for self catering although we only ever had breakfast in room. Pool bar served good quality home made food cooked by the mother. Kefalonia meat pie was amazing. The family owners could not be more helpful or welcoming. Lovely quiet area with beautiful beach short walk away and excellent tavernas . Very quiet area in which to relax and recharge . Excellent location for airport and getting to Argostoli on local bus. Gyros place next door is definitely worth a visit too as delicious. .

Barbara studios were the perfect place for myself and husband . The staff were fantastic especially Dave. Will certainly go back and have recommended them to our friends and family .Everything was at hand. The beach .shops and restaurants. A quiet peaceful place to chill.

Just returned from a two week holiday here at Barbara Studios. Erato, Barbara, Dave and the family are lovely people and will do all they can to ensure that your holiday is perfect. We stayed in new block. Fantastic room with great views. Room spotlessly clean and linen changed regularly. Air con a must at 7 euros per day. Ae Helis beach under 10 mins walk. Small supermarket next door and a few good tavernas within walking distance but would advise hiring a car to see the rest of the island. BBQ night also a good night with great cooking from Barbara and Dave. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, laid back holiday then this is the place to go. Hope to return here again. Very clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Nice pool . Good location. Good food. Could not ask for anywhere better for the price we paid. We would go again as we had a very nice time. We would say that this accommodation is more suited to couples .

We went with Jet2, very short transfer from airport, only one ATM at the airport so bring cash. Hotel grounds clean, lime, lemon and fig trees growing. Pool cleaned every night, large beers 3 euros, hosts couldn't be more helpful or friendly - definitely go to the friday bbq. Free wifi at bar and pool. Small shop next to hotel for staples and larger shop about 20 min walk away, out the hotel and go left. We hired a car and went to the Lidl supermarket for a big shop for the week also day trips to Skala, Argostoli and other beaches. You get a basic map from the car hire companies but be prepapred to get a little lost, take it slow and you will get your bearings. Our room was in the newer block about 200m from the pool. Great to have a bath and shower good pressure, we brought freezer blocks and picnic bag (fridge has a small ice tray section) for day trips, drinks at the beach. Plan for aircon at an extra 7euros per day. Beach Al Helios about 20 mins walk away from hotel (get iced water bottle from the shop), great sandy beach, shallow waters - good for kids and a small beach bar cafe - steps from road down to beach are steep. Would also recommend the family restaurant, out of the hotel and turn right, 100m down and on the same side as the hotel. Usually go all inclusive but sold on self catering after staying here.

We loved our stay at Barbara Studios, a family run business, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was great, very clean and in a lovely spot anongst the gardens. A veranda is essential for sitting out on with a glass of cold beer/wine on a warm balmy night which was important for us. Local shops and beach nearby. Great restaurant on Avithos beach called To Enetiko. Local bus into the capial Argostoli isn't punctual but that didn't matter. We ate like Greeds and enjoyed our time at Barbara Studios! Would definitely go back.

booked as a last minute trip - great friendly apartments with none of the early morning towels on loungers. Quiet location with a few restaurants nearby - the food at the pool bar is excellent . The apartments are simple but clean and great value for money
