Olive Grove Studios & Apartments

The apartments are in a lovely setting but that’s about all they have going for them unfortunately. When you look beyond the instagrammable facade of the picture postcard setting, the facilities are basic, dated & the rooms are sparsely equipped - even by Greek standards. The staff on the bar need to learn some customer services & the menu needs to offer some better food options especially as there is so little else in the area to go to eat at instead. There were mice in the walls of my patio & evidence of them in the room too and my neighbour woke up to find one on her pillow looking at her in the middle of the night & had to move to a room upstairs which was done begrudgingly!! I think the owners are coasting off their location & are only in it to make money, not make people’s holidays magical. I am also really annoyed with Jet2 for taking holiday makers out to this resort at a time of year when everything had closed for the season!! They must know that this was the case but are also in it just to make money obviously. There were only 3 restaurants within walking distance & accessible without a car but they all closed up for the season during the time I was there & the supermarket had also run its stock down so I really struggled to eat even! Trips weren’t running & the local bus only turned up when it felt like it!! Go to Lefkada instead - I guarantee you a much better holiday will be had & it doesn’t close down quite as much over Autumn & Winter. You can then take a ferry to kefalonia if you really want to see some of the island.

I booked this holiday having read the reviews but was disappointed. I agree the staff appear helpful but no actions were taken to fix any of the issues. It’s going to take someone to have an accident before they do. Broken chairs , leaking air con, faulty shelves. We were a family including grandparents and it made me on edge being there. There are positives .. plenty of sun beds, clean pool, clean bedding but the negatives add up. The food prices are very expensive on site and the restaurants are cheaper with far superior quality. It was €9.50 per cocktail or €7 a vodka and coke on site I felt ripped off at the Olive Grove. ( they have the daftest way of recording what you have had during the day and this leads to many disputes with guests arguing over whether it’s been paid or not) There are limited restaurants around but of great quality and and average meal of €15 including a drink. The Gyros house is the best value especially if you have children as their Gyros is only €4!!!! Packed out every night. Fois restaurant has a Greek night with no extra charge for it and well worth the visit. The beaches are a good walk away and you have to climb a lot of steps to get to the closest one as below a cliff. Ammas beach at the airport is best accessible. €2 pp on the bus takes you to the main town and it’s lovely to visit. I always travel Jet2 and can’t fault them but this place is not up to their standards. If you got a bargain price then it’s ok I guess but I wouldn’t return. Jet2 have far superior places for the same price as this.

We had a great holiday at Olive Grove Studios, Grand children and their mother were delighted with the wonderful pools. The location was good with nearby beaches and restaurants together with a well stocked mini-supermarket which was ideal for the self catering studio rooms.

This is our 2nd visit to the Olive Grove Studio and Apartments. The Maria and Anna nice, friendly, helpful and kind and nothing is to much trouble. The Apartments are .comfortable, clean and nice shower rooms. We overlooked the pool and garden. The pool is clean, with plenty of loungers, the pool bar serves tasty food, cool beer, cocktails good selection of drinks. It is only 10 mins transfer time, with beautiful beaches within walking distance. Good selection of travernas serving some very tasty Greek cuisine, kefalonian pie, calamari/ fresh prawns/ fish, Greek salad, chicken / pork Slovaki, beef Stefadio. Great base to explore the island, Lassi, Lourdes, and Argos short drive by car. Beautiful Island, accommodation, weather and food.

This family run hotel is a little bit of heaven on a beautiful island. Maria and her family are so friendly and welcoming and Alex the dog was a favourite with us, he even joined us on a visit to the beach. Anna at the pool bar served us with lovely meals and makes an amazing pina colada. She provided us with information regarding an upcoming visit to the city. The hotel BBQ on a Sunday night was excellent and a great way for guests to get chatting. The pool area was cleaned daily and there’s plenty of sun beds or tables and chairs to relax on. The local supermarket sells everything you need for self catering and we used it daily for milk and bread etc. Again very friendly and helpful people, Spiros the owner even phoned a taxi for us when we missed the bus to Argostoli where we saw the turtles coming in with the fishing boats. Catherine and Phil a lovely English couple who now live close to the hotel often pop in and Catherine makes beautiful hand painted pebbles, she painted 2 for us as a memento of our stay at Olive Grove. This holiday was everything we wanted as a family and we will definitely return.

Olive Grove is a beautiful setting, our apartment for a family of four was clean, fresh and modern. The kitchenette was ample to have breakfasts and lunches and we ate our meals out or at Olive Grove itself. Maria one of the owners and her staff are superb, catering to whatever your needs are nothing is too much of a problem. The gardens are beautifully maintained as is the pool, which is superb and consists of 3 different depths of pool catering to everyone's requirements. There are plenty of good places to eat at walking distance and Ai Helis beach is a short walk away too - a beautiful beach. Our first time in Kefalonia and I really feel like going back already!

We had a fantastic holiday at Olive Grove Apartments in August, is 9 years since we went abroad and wanted somewhere totally authentic, quiet and tranquil but with beaches within walking distance and we got exactly that. The apartments were spotless and just what we wanted and the grounds were well maintained. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance and we can highly recommend Espiredes at the top of the road and also Fois which was also within walking distance. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and we were very sorry to go home, it was a fantastic ideal holiday for us and our 12 year old son. Will definitely return

A lovely bright clean room. Nice and modern for a greek apartment, including the bathroom. The staff were quick and happy to sort any problems-needed the shower head replacing and was sorted very quickly. The pool area could do with a revamp and is rather small for the amount of apartments, but plenty of beaches to use in the area. Shortage of towels and bedding not changed as frequently as I would have liked. But overall a clean and quiet place to stay. Would recommend. Cephalonia never disappoints-our favourite place💙.

Could not fault the apartments & facilities at all. Cleaned everyday with towels & bedding changed often. Good size with 2 double beds. Friendly always happy to help. Swimming areas separated so great for children of all ages. Plenty of areas to sit in the tranquility of the resort and totally relax. Need a car if you want to explore the island but enough places to eat nearby if you just want to chill. Fab holiday now looking forward to returning next year
